Our little guys has gone through a series of growth spurts in the last few weeks! I can tell because almost non of my regular pants fit anymore! We were in Sacramento, CA this week checking on the house and visiting with some friends. It was fun because a lot of our friends there already have kids so we got some good advice...and some that was a little scary! The house looks good, our renters took very good care of it! The baby has been a good traveler! We were tallying up all the places he's been and so far he's been to: Chicago, the UP, Las Vegas, DC/Virginia, Sacramento, and soon London, England! I guess we better take lots of pictures because he probably won't be back to many of these places anytime soon! I've been feeling good, finally am back to my starting weight. I've been walking a lot and doing yoga. They seem to be two activities that make me feel the best!

Week 19

Week 18-It's a BOY!!!

We Found out this weekend that we are having a little boy! It was so nice because we were able to have our ultrasound with Jay and Alisa at the Baker campus. We found out that they are having a girl! So there will be one of each! Later that night we had a dinner with the parents and siblings to tell them the exciting news! It was a great night! Ryan had a perma-grin on his face the whole night and proceeded to tell everyone in the restaurant (and Jumbo's-later that night) that he was having a boy! It was really cute. It also happened to be his birthday weekend, so I think that added to the excitement! We are looking forwarded to decorating the nursery and picking out cute boyish things for the little guy! I think finding out the sex of the baby has made it that much more real for us-we are thrilled! Ryan still has that ultrasound picture as his wallpaper on his phone....he probably won't change it until the baby comes! A proud dad!
Week 16

We are now into our 4th month and I can't believe how fast time is flying! I have started to feel a lot better, and have the morning sickness behind me. I am back to eating regular foods (healthy foods!) and I've had a lot more energy to workout and get through my day without taking a nap! They aren't kidding when they say the second trimester is much better. I was still running up until this week, but due to some minor pain, my doctor advised me to stop running and do more low impact exercising. My pants are starting to get tight and I finally broke out my bella band today. I works pretty good and has allowed me to wear my regular work clothes for a sort time longer. I felt the baby moving for the first time about 2 weeks ago, and each week that goes by I'm noticing more and more. We find out with Jay and and Alisa on Oct. 10th what we are having, so that should be exciting! I still think it will be a boy, but either way we can't wait! We have another Dr.'s appointment on Tuesday of next week to listen to the heartbeat and take measurements, pretty standard stuff. We'll post more in 2 weeks after we find out what we're having!
13 Weeks

Today was our 13 week appt. and we were very excited! Ryan and I met for a quick lunch before our appt. and then we went in for our ultrasound. This time the baby was much more active than before. We saw him moving his legs and arms he flipped a couple of times, and it even looked like he was sucking on his thumb for a little bit. They took measurements for the back of its neck to make sure there aren't any developmental issues and everything looked great!!! They baby is measuring just under 2 1/2 inches in length! It seems so small, but the Dr. said that I will soon be able to feel it move! I can't wait for that! The heartbeat was coming in at 156 beats per minute which was really strong. So far, everything looks really good and we couldn't be happier! I've been feeling pretty good, still have moments when I get sick, but they are fewer than before. I bought my first Bella band this weekend when I was with my mom and Alisa, anticipating my work pants aren't going to be comfortable for too much longer. We have our next appointment Sept. 29th and then on Oct 10 we will find out the sex at an ultrasound with Jay and Alisa (my brother and sister-in-law). We have our 20 week appt. with our Dr. to confirm the sex of the baby 2 weeks later!!! That will be sooo much fun!! I think we are both having boys, but we'll just have to wait and see!
The End of Our first Trimester!

Well.....we have finally reached week 12 and I feel like I can start to take a deep breath! My morning sickness has started to slowly subside, but my tiredness has really started to kick in! I've been sleeping between 9-10 hours a night and still feel like I need to take a nap sometimes! I guess I should get my sleep now, before the baby comes and sleep will be hard to come by. It has been so nice having friends and family around for support! It's been really nice that Alisa and I are so close in our due dates that we can compare and contrast our symptoms with one another. All my cloths still fit, but I am assuming that will start coming to an end soon. I haven't gained back any of the weight I have lost yet, either....but again, I'm sure I'll make up for it! No real cravings yet, but I am able to stomach more food than I was before. Still not much of an appetite, but when I am hungry, I've been able to eat a fair amount. We have our next ultrasound on Tuesday of next week, so we will get another update on how the baby is doing as well as measurements and hear the heartbeat again! Can't wait!!!!
Week 10 Update
We are into our 10th week of being pregnant (officially)! My morning sickness has subsided a bit, but I still have my moments! I've pretty much been living off peanut butter on white bread, mac'n cheese, soup and gatorade. I haven't been super hungry yet, but when I do get hungry, get out of the way because I have a small window between hungry-starving and about to get sick! I've found I have to force myself to eat throughout the day so I don't feel so sick come dinner time. I have been tired, but not as bad as I thought I would be, thankfully! Getting to the gym has been a challenge, but I feel so much better, and eat better when I go. I am still running, but only 1 a week. The rest of the time I am taking classes at my gym, doing yoga and going for walks. Our next appointment is September 1st and we will be able to see more of our little one then. They are going to take measurements and blood tests to make sure the baby doesn't have any nero problems. We are so excited to get to hear the heartbeat again and see our little baby. We pray everyday for the health of Baby Janko because we know it is still early in the pregnancy. I haven't gained any weight yet, in fact I've lost about 4.5 lbs., but I have no worries because I've heard that's common with mothers who are sick in the 1st trimester. I haven't noticed any changes in the way my clothes fit either, but I am sure that will come in the nest few weeks! So I am trying to wear all the clothes I know won't fit soon!
How We Found Out!

Well, I was just getting back from a girls weekend in Chicago. We had all joked that I was probably pregnant because I was eating pickles every chance I got (Mandingo's)! So when I got home that night I decided to take a pregnancy test to see if my intuitions were in fact real. I took the first one and left the room. I got sidetracked doing laundry and then I came back into the bathroom to get something and realized the test had, what appeared to be, 2 lines! One was light and the other was dark, I thought it was right, but my 5% of uncertainty made me proceeded to take 4 more tests! They all had the same results, but I wasn't convinced, so I went to the store and bought the most expensive digital test I could find to make sure this was what I thought it was.....and it WAS! The only problem was, Ryan was in Asia on a trip for his Master's program and I couldn't tell him over the phone while he was in another country! So I waited 4 days (the longest 4 days of my life!) and decided to tell him when I picked him up from the airport. So he came off the plane, so excited to tell me all about his trip and show me all the souvenirs he brought back but my excitement couldn't wait! I handed him a box wrapped up with the test inside, (the digital one that said pregnant-don't worry I sanitized it!)! When he opened the package and saw what was inside he looked at me like I was punking him (the same look I gave him when he proposed) we hugged and soaked up the moment in the parking garage at Detroit Metro Airport-how romantic!
